My name is Steven Schumann, I am an award-winning studio musician based out of Nashville, TN who would love to work with you on your next project! (International Songwriting Competition winner, 2019). In addition to working with grammy nominated individuals in the studio, I have performed on stage with acts like Disturbed, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and played at venues such as the Opry and Great American Music Hall.
In addition to my multi-genre experience, I am classically trained and hold a cello performance degree from Marshall University. This means that I have a high level of technical proficiency, and marry that to my experience in formal composition and as a producer.
I record all of my tracks in an acoustically isolated room, typically with my Neumann TLM 102. I edit all of my tracks to reduce extraneous noise, and run many tracks through melodyne for invisible nudges to give the tracks a "radio-ready" sound (unless otherwise requested of course!).
I can read written music, chord charts, or compose by ear (though some sort of chart makes my workflow faster!). If you need professional strings, I would love to work with you on your next project!
